The members of Proyas Bengali Cultural Association hosted a vibrant event on the evening of Mahasaptami, the seventh day of Durga Puja. The program featured a variety of performances, including classical dance forms like Bharatanatyam and Kathak, which captivated the audience. Other cultural acts added to the festive atmosphere, showcasing the richness of Bengali heritage. The event concluded on a high note, with all the performers taking part in the finale. The smooth coordination between the organizers, performers, and attendees ensured a successful and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
Every place is Durga, every being is Durga, every woman, man and animal is Durga. Whatever we see are all Durga. There is nothing other than Durga .

Yonder, by the brook, A tree, of river birch stood; The stream gushed her water-hard, But the tree stall'd with a tranquil look.
The life of a man begins, Like that of a sapling do; He grows to be a hefty man, Along his gluttonous looks.
History of humans, is full of greed- Foolish, futile and ferocious deeds, "For what?", you may crave- For the wealth and power, meant for the brave.
And then you may inquire, "Aristocracy and wealth, are of no-means; what of it?" Then let me answer, "Sire, if you were in such a place of high-esteem, could you have resisted such pride?"
The tree, like the many victims of human greed, Was, for it's birch, killed- And now, it stands stead- At height of a feet- from where it was cut dead.
Man can transform many things- Wide-spread vegetation to cities, And, wood to velvety upholsters; But man certainly, cannot change selfishness, Else, would he have chopped the tree, of the upholsters' wood?
I am eighty, and I have less to live- Less health, less happiness, take it as you may;
I was rapacious, in my past, too, And I did the vicious, self-centered work also, The last of which, was to murder this one, innocent-tree. Like the thousand beings before.
